To have an oil shortage here in our country.

This is so true and whats crazy is Bush claims the drilling here is hurtful to the environment, which it very well might be but he won't work on a plan to stop global warming. What drilling here is hurtful to is his pockets, he owns and is in bed with half those companies overseas.
